Introduction
This is a full-time position as an elementary grade teacher promoting academic excellence, artistic, and spiritual greatness. This role should continuously propel and foster spiritual, emotional, social, and academic growth and development. The elementary grade teacher is to cater to all different learning abilities in the classroom, providing all students with individual attention, ensuring comprehension of lessons while addressing all objectives established by the school for each grade level. 


Tasks & Responsibilities    

  • Create, develop, and write lesson plans for all classes on a weekly basis.

  • Establish and maintain communication with parents adhering to administrative policy.

  • Be available and willing to address student and parent questions and concerns.

  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to adhere to students’ various needs, interests, and learning capabilities. 

  • Confer with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students’ behavioral and academic circumstances.

  • Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. 

  • Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.

  • Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress and to determine priorities for their children and their resource needs. 

  • Collaborate with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of the elementary school program.

  • Prepare, administer, and grade assessments and assignments evaluating students’ academic progress and identifying areas of improvement.

  • Attends professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.

  • Upholds the Code of Ethics of Rhema Word Christian Academy. 


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education preferred

  • Florida State Certification in Elementary Education and/or Florida Professional Certification, ACSI certification preferred

  • A strong commitment to the philosophies and mission of Rhema Word Christian Academy.

  • Assist with the preparation of children’s assignments and activities.

  • Make copies and prepare materials for lessons and special activities as requested by the teacher.

  • Assist teachers in directing parent volunteers in their tasks.

  • Help teachers in maintaining an orderly classroom.

  • Help decorate and tear down bulletin boards in the classroom and hallway.

  • Other tasks as assigned by teachers.

  • Act as a substitute teacher or office assistant as requested by the administration.

The custodian is the role responsible for overseeing that the facilities in our workplace are maintained well. It also includes tasks like responding to complaints, ensuring damages are repaired, conducting regular check-ups, and keeping an inventory of supplies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them.

School Bus Driver

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Introduction

This is a part-time position responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of students in and around a designated area, using a vehicle that requires a Commercial Driver’s License. Work is performed within established guidelines, code of ethics, and procedures advised by the school, ensuring the safety of students and the public. The employee is expected to exercise independent judgment and initiative to ensure the safety of all.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for the safety of school children in loading and unloading.

  • Instructs students in safety precautions and practices.

  • Maintains discipline; reports unruly behavior.

  • Checks water, gas, oil, and mechanical condition before commencing routes.

  • Reports delays and accidents.

  • Keeps operational records and reports.

  • Reports defects or problems with the vehicle.

  • Assures bus meets regular maintenance schedules.

  • Regulates heating equipment and ventilation of buses for the comfort of students.

  • Drives vehicles per traffic regulations.

  • Attends training and continuing education programs as required for updated and achieve endorsements and/or licensures.

  • Upholds the Code of Ethics of Rhema Word Christian Academy.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A valid State of Florida Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or higher) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements is required and must be maintained valid throughout employment.

  • Have successfully graduated from High School or possess an acceptable GED from a recognized issuing agency.

  • Three (3) years of experience of relevant experience operating school buses or vehicles designed to transport 16 or more passengers.

  • Please note that S (School Bus) endorsement is issued to those who have passed the required written and skills examination transporting pre-primary, primary, or secondary school students from home to school, from school to home, or to and from school-sponsored events.

  • Please note that P (Passengers) endorsement is issued to those who have passed the written and skill examination for passenger vehicle driving.

  • Please note that once hired, the licensed School Bus Driver professional will be required to provide additional documentation and forms ensuring compliance:

    • Background Screening & Fingerprinting required

    • Proof of HS Diploma or GED required

    • Pediatric CPR/First Aid preferred

    • Experience working as a license bus driver for 3 years required
